We are on private island of Agusta, in the Raja Ampat marine park, West Papua, Indonesia.
We benefit from a privileged position, which allows us to quickly access the most important diving and snorkeling sites.
The island is surrounded by a deep coral beach and an amazing sea.
The palm trees, frangipanis and bougainvilliers offer colours difficult to forget.
The pool, also adapted to the diving courses given by our instructors, is a freshwater pool.
We take the environmental sustainability very seriously: we have equipped the resort with solar panels, and we pay the greatest attention to reducing emissions and managing plastics.
The dive centre is located in front of the Agusta jetty.
Here, you can rent complete diving equipment or snorkeling equipment.
12-litre tank refills can be done on air or on Nitrox (additional).
Each day, two to four dives are organized.
During the morning briefing, the details of the diving and snorkeling sites are presented and the group assignments to the boats and guides are communicated.
On board the boats, divers/snorkelers have towels, tea, coffee, biscuits and freshwater, served during surface intervals.
Between dives, we visit beaches, lagoons or local villages.
Of course, the boats are equipped with oxygen and first aid kits.
In respect of marine life and in accordance with local laws, the use of gloves is prohibited.
The use of an underwater lamp is recommended to admire the colours of the sea floor.

I am writing to warn that by engaging with them you can simply waste your time. During the first few days I have received nearly immediate answers, got a quote. But when I asked for the reservation the lady (Mara) just vanished. I have sent her several emails thinking that it could be an internet problem but received no response at all. I wrote to their WhatsApp number only to get an answer that I should contact them by email. As a result we have wasted time and probably lost another reservation as I could not talk to two hotels at once.

I had a great time staying in Agusta Eco Resort with my family for one week. All the staffs were super friendly and helpful. If you love diving, the resort is perfectly located in the middle of the Raja Ampat marine park. You can reach most of the diving spots (e.g. Melissa Garden, The Passage, etc.) within one hour of a boat ride.

I wanted to share some feedback on my week in Agusta. As many of us I checked the lower comments and was a bit scared to book- And they are clearly not correct. AGUSTA is a great resort, value for money and very well located in the heart of Raja Ampat. Making it easy for most divesites access and an hour of easy efficient team transfer from the sorong wasei ferry The pros : The island is great and each bungalow is on a white sand beach facing the sea The dive masters and local team are really nice . We had Claudio. He was very familiar with the dive sites and we saw a lot of quite unique marine life typical of Raja. Boats are nice and the team is efficient. We had a family room. Spacious / with a perfect silent efficient aircon and beds with great nets and a cool terrace -a great freshwater pool and a fun pontoon with fishes and reefsharks to observe the evening The local manager lady speaks decent English as well as the dive masters The points to improve : -While there is a clear positive Italian touch, food could be improved and with a bit of training it would be even better -Same for the spa. The lady is nice but with a bit of training it would be better -Some of the equipment of the diveshop is ageing and could be better maintained ( shoes/masks/combis) but anyways lessons learned most people come with their equipment. The tanks and stab were although perfect and that s the main thing -There is a slight issue of smell in showers and bathrooms but we understand it s far from easy to fix everything in remote locations Overall we really loved it and rated 5 despite a few comments that are there to help the owner :) Pascal and family

The small island is a corner of paradise but the owners Marco and Mara made every possible effort to make it a rustic wild home away from home with great and clean wooden cottages, amazing food that you wouldn’t believe you could have in such a far away place and they surrounded themselves with nice local staff. If life above water was already a great experience, just wait till you stick your head in the water! I was just snorkelling but I saw the world down there and I was guided by very nice and amazing guides who seemed to know every coral and every fish all around Raja Ampat. I really hope I’ll be able to go back many times, it was one of the best experiences I ever had and I will never thank them enough!

I went to Raja Ampat and the dives are among the most beautiful in the world. I do confirm that as soon as my head was underwater the very long trip was soon forgotten. At Agusta Eco Resort I felt immediately at home. The island is a corner of paradise and kindness is everywhere. The cottages are very clean and the food is great, “so good!” (As some American friends repeatedly confirmed). The owners Marco and Mara are always available and helpful in trying to fulfil every client’s request. When I travel I usually don’t go back to the same place, but I’ll make an exception because this part of ocean is stuck in my heart.
