Dive & Sea Tahiti is the nautical base of Puna’auia, on the west coast of Tahiti. From 3 piers, the center offers all your sea activities: scuba diving (baptisms, training and exploration dives), whale watching from July to November, snorkeling, freediving, kayak and paddle rental.

Safety information :
Defibrillator (AED) available on site. Oxygen and first aid kit on board each boat (VHF, first aid). Trained staff in first aid and diving accident management. Evacuation plan in case of an accident. The nearest hyperbaric chamber is at the Centre Hospitalier de Polynésie française in Papeete. Whale watching tours in compliance with DIREN regulations.
Other activities offered by the center :
Whale watching tours from July 20 to November 20 (from 5 years old), snorkeling, freediving with SSI Basic Freediver & Freediver certifications, kayak rental (2 people), paddle rental, Dive and Sea textile shop. Boat license soon available.
Opening hours and annual closure :
Open 7 days a week, all year round. Usual departures in the morning at 10:00 (sometimes 13:30 for snorkeling). Whale watching tours only from July 20 to November 20.
Parking nearby the nautical base. Equipment provided for all activities — simply bring your swimsuit. Sunscreen, towel, and camera recommended. Scuba diving baptism accessible from 8 years old, whale watching tours from 5 years old.

Walked in. What a great place! Right off the off-shore break where the major surf competitions take place (the platform is no longer there). La source is one of the pinnacle dive sites! Sharks, turtles and plenty of clear visibility. Organized by ability and completely digital. Impressive! I was only around for a few days but I appreciated the camaraderie and conversation. I booked 3 whale swimming trips over the course of 10 days. We had great encounters on 1 and 3. The second day we twice saw a mother and her calf but they swam away as we approached them. Dive and sea offers both masks, snorkel, fins as well as a combo wet suit which is very nice as being in the water will cool you down. Their rates are also competitive compared to Moorea. They are conveniently located with free parking. The entire crew is very friendly and knowledgeable. If you are prone to get seasick, take a tablet in advance as the zodiac will stop once the whales are spotted and then it will bounce and roll. I can warmly recommend them.

We had a pleasant experience at Dive and Sea Tahiti. Very nice and structured booking upfront before the start of our journey. The Guides and the whole team were very friendly, calm and professional. The Gear was in good condition and clean. Of course seeing a whale is a thing of luck. The Guides have a lot of respect for the animals and they know how to approach the whales. Slowly and kind of quietly we were swimming in their direction after the spotting. We were waiting for the mother humpback to check us out and just starting coming a little closer after she accepted our presence. It was just an amazing experience seeing mother and calf underwater.

This is the perfect dive shop for divers of all levels. The operation is extremely well run and the facilities and boats are some of the most comfortable we’ve experienced in 30 years of diving. We dove with 7 different dive masters throughout the week and appreciated their relaxed, but attentive style. The team takes great care of their customers, making the diving so easy and pleasurable. They also serve hot tea and cakes between dives on the boat! We were able to store our gear overnight and base out of the shop for the day at the nice waterfront area that included food trucks in the park next door. We highly recommend Dive and Sea for a personalized, upscale dive experience with friendly and knowledgeable staff who put great care into maintaining gear, boats, and terrific facilities with lounge area, changing facility, clean bathrooms, and the nice gear washing stations.
