Meridiano Cero is a FRENCH-SPEAKING dive center, affiliated with FFESSM and SSI, offering training courses in both systems.
Located on the island of El Hierro, the westernmost of the Canary Islands, designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the center is a Longitude 181 Ambassador Center and certified LABEL ECOSUB by the FFESSM.
We welcome you all year round, whether you dive solo, with family or with friends, in small groups, to introduce you to extraordinary volcanic seabeds and a rich, diverse marine life.
Our strengths :
– The Marine Reserve « La Mar de las Calmas », sheltered from the prevailing winds, allowing diving year-round in excellent conditions
– Diver numbers deliberately limited to protect the dive sites: small groups only (6 to 8 people)
– Exceptional visibility (often over 40 meters)
– Dive sites located less than 15 minutes by boat
– Abundant subtropical marine life and pleasant water temperature year-round (between 19 and 25°C)
– Spectacular volcanic seabeds: fissures, caves, canyons, dramatic drop-offs and the famous El Bajón underwater volcano, admired by Jacques-Yves Cousteau
– Dives suited to all levels
Non-divers are welcome too!
The island of El Hierro is full of hiking trails suited to beginners and experienced walkers alike.
You’ll discover breathtaking landscapes from the viewpoints overlooking the island, walking through pine and broadleaf forests or following paths shaped by lava flows.
To end your day, enjoy a refreshing swim in one of the island’s many natural pools.

Safety information :
“ The island presents a significant altitude, you must wait three hours after the two morning dives to go for a walk on the island.
Leisure diving practiced here excludes decompression stops, autonomy, and technical diving (Marine Reserve rules).”
