Located on the unique island of Fuvahmulah, in the heart of the Indian Ocean, Scuba Shark is a dive centre specialising in encounters with large pelagics, particularly tiger sharks.
We offer a different approach to diving in the Maldives: small groups, flexible organisation and special attention given to each diver. Here, there are no large group dives: every outing is designed to maximise your chances of sightings while guaranteeing a high level of safety.
Our signature experience takes place at Tiger Harbor, where tiger sharks live in their natural environment. We favour a progressive and respectful approach, allowing you to observe these animals up close in optimal conditions.
Beyond tiger sharks, Fuvahmulah also offers regular encounters with other iconic species such as thresher sharks, hammerhead sharks, and oceanic manta rays and oceanic whitetips, depending on the season.

Safety information:
Safety is at the heart of our organisation. We have first aid equipment, oxygen therapy on board and our team is trained in emergency procedures. Dives are planned according to conditions (currents, visibility, weather) as well as the level of the divers. The nearest recompression chamber is located in Malé.
Other activities offered by the centre:
We also offer snorkelling excursions, particularly in search of oceanic whitetip sharks (Longimanus), as well as other boat trips depending on conditions and opportunities at the time.

I just finished two days of diving with Scuba Shark and I just wish I had more time! Julie and Thoal run a great operation and are such lovely people! Nutey and Irey were also great crew to be with and will help make your time on the boat run very smoothly. We were lucky to see thresher sharks and of course lots of tiger sharks at the shark harbour. This dive was done very well and managed with safety in mind. They also only take a small group of divers at a time which is great. I would really recommend them if you’re stopping by Fuvahmulah!

Lovely people and hands down the best of my four Maldives experiences so far. This operator focuses on tailored dives for experienced groups who appreciate a more personal approach over the flashiness of larger operators — and they deliver exceptionally well. Our group consisted mostly of dive instructors with over 1,000 dives each, and the team proposed dives perfectly suited to our level. We had close encounters with tiger sharks, thresher sharks, whale sharks, various reef sharks, hunting tuna and the occasional turtle and octopus — truly breathtaking. The team is fantastic: kind, attentive, and genuinely caring when it comes to our needs, safety, and having a good laugh along the way. On the boat we were treated to water, fresh fruit, dried tuna and coconuts (highly recommended!), well-filled tanks, and a smooth, well-run operation throughout. This has been my best diving experience in the Maldives to date, and I have no doubt I’ll be back for more adventures with these guys.

Best scuba diving centre in the island. Thoal has an extraordinary good knowledge of the island and weather conditions and guided us extremely well during all the dives. Beside Thoal, Julie was always available to help us with whatever we could need. The crew was super professional and made all our dives super easy and comfortable. The company's policy is to keep groups small to offer tailored experiences to their guests and it results in extraordinary dive experiences. There is no doubt we will dive with them again if we have the chance to visit Fuvahmulah again!

This was my first time in Maldives. Julie at Scuba Shark was quick to respond to my emails. She arranged my flight and they picked me up at my hotel, so I had less to worry about. Thoal was a great dive guide who put my safety first. I did 2 days of diving [2 Tiger Harbor dives]. I felt completely safe with the sharks and the whole operation is run with respect to the animals. The other dives I did we encountered more tigers and reef sharks. I saw other dive companies with big groups, but Scuba Shark has small groups and the boat is well kept with a bathroom.. I highly recommend them and I hope I can visit Fuvahmulah again as two days of diving was not enough! 🙂
