Tufi Resort is a personalised boutique resort, nestled at the top of a spectacular fjord offering 180° views over the sea, fjords and mountains.
Located in Oro province, about 250 miles east of the capital Port Moresby, the resort offers comfortable accommodation as well as a wide range of activities and excursions, both underwater and on land.
Open for more than 30 years, the establishment enjoys a solid international reputation as a leading destination for scuba diving in Papua New Guinea.

A unique boutique hotel with incredible views on the fjords. The staff, including management, were so welcoming and helpful. We spent 3 nights there for our honeymoon and they made us feel truly special. The diving was great, and even the snorkelling was phenomenal, with an impressive diversity of corals. We also had fun with their hobie cat and kayaks, and went for a very nice walk to the lookout from where you can admire the fjords.

Tufi Resort is a magnificent place. It's provides a sensible level of 21st century comfort right alongside access to nature and indiginous village life that remains little touched for decades if not centuries, because by air and water are the only ways to reach it. It boasts access to some of the best snorkeling and diving in the world because of its abundant aquatic life on countless stunning coral reefs. Prices for the various excursions are extremely reasonable, and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. If you're concerned about safety, leave that in your suitcase because you don't even need to lock your room here. I first visited in 2006; this was my second visit, in January 2026. Things are as wonderful here now as they were then. It's a unique trip definitely worth taking!

An Unforgettable Easter Getaway at Tufi Resort We spent Easter at Tufi Resort with my husband and two friends, and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family by the incredible managers, Luther and Anne, whose warmth and hospitality set the tone for the entire stay. The setting is absolutely breathtaking – perched above a pristine fjord with sweeping views of the ocean and lush mountains. The resort itself is beautifully maintained, comfortable, and full of charm, perfectly blending with the natural surroundings. Every meal was fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. The staff were kind, attentive, and always went the extra mile to ensure we were comfortable and happy. We loved the variety of activities on offer – snorkeling, cultural tours, and simply soaking in the beauty of the region. The diving here is world-class, and the dive crew were professional and knowledgeable, making it an amazing experience even for the less experienced swimmers in our group. Luther and Anne truly made our stay special – they’ve created such a welcoming and relaxed environment that we left feeling like part of the Tufi family. We can’t wait to come back!
